AUSTRALIA PART 6
7 months later.
Hard to believe I'd have been back in Canada right now...but there was very little chance I would've actually flown back on the scheduled date - not with a feature film underway and very good possibility this TV Pilot getting picked up - not a chance.
For those that missed the first five parts, the final video of the series highlights the past 6 months and also some extra footage that didn't make the original cuts.

AUSTRALIA - PART 5: JANUARY
A $6000 coffee? Sure I'll take one.
Thats how much it cost me earlier this month when I decided to make some quick cash and join a clinical trial. Sure its risky, but easy money. After completing and passing a number of screening tests to be accepted into the trial, I had one more to go: wear the 'Halter Monitor' for 24 hours to measure my heart rate to make sure there were no abnormalities. 23 hours later I buy a 'short black' (to which I didn't realise at the time) is straight-up pure caffine, basically giving my heart a dropkick and sending it off the charts. Duurrrrr. Ended up not walking away the $6000, but probably for the best seeing is though January was a kickass month: shooting with the pros on Devoted Husband, and a much needed concert outing at Big Day Out, an amazing national festival with a solid lineup of bands and performers.
This is probably one of my better videos of the series to date:

AUSTRALIA - PART 4: DECEMBER
December was a great month in terms of production: another small shoot I was apart of and on set with talented director Gene Alberts and Aussie icon Grahame Bond. The short film (if accepted) will be displayed in front of a crowd of +70,000 in the 'TROPFEST' Festival in late Jan, and IMDB credits are also issued for the cast and crew. I've already been issued a page (Second Face) which is somewhat of a 'right-of-passage' among filmmakers, but I've been mistakenly listed under Frostar....stage name??
Post-production of Alice-Rose has finally wrapped up (just in sound at the moment) and will be sent out to festivals around the world in mid-January.

DAY 118 - CHRISTMAS DAY; The Choices of Alice-Rose
Alice-Rose Mead's mortal existence was pre-determined. She made a contract with The Keeper to share her life, fate and destiny with another, Adrian Good. But things didn't go to plan. She survived the very impact which should have brought her and Adrian death, their eternal togetherness in the afterlife.
'The Keeper' helps her fulfil her destiny by reminding her what she had forgotten.
Through the eyes of Alice-Rose Mead, this fictional short film explores the concepts of a pre-determined life, destiny, fate, choices, relationships and the afterlife.
The full short film 'The Choices of Alice-Rose' was initially made for the 48Hr Film Project Sydney 2010 and was 05:35 minutes in duration.
It has been re-edited with additional footage and is now 17:00 minutes long, and will be released to film festivals in 2011.

AUSTRALIA - PART 3: NOVEMBER
PART 3 marks the halfway point of my trip, with another three months left. This video has a new vibe to it, quite flashy and upbeat in comparison to the first two. These videos keep evolving, which has come from the freedom to experiment, at my leisure, with different looks and techniques resulting in a completely unique creative outlet.
Enjoy!

DAY 103 - SUMMER
So the TV pilot I was signed on to cut has been rescheduled until Feb, we ran into some production issues... I've got another two shorts lined up for in January - who knows where I'll be at that time...the NOVEMBER episode is almost done and I'll have it up very soon!
The weather here is unbelievable - very warm, 23 degrees in Katoomba - I was in Sydney today and it hit 27.
My heart goes out to you Canadians with your touques and shovels -
